Google I/O today was a downer

Ugh — I’m hoping for a real surprise tomorrow at Google I/O. Today was a real disappointment. Obviously, the conference was a complete dude-fest, replete with Tevas, wolf T-shirts, and beards. That’s par for the course.

There were three unexpected FAILs: the wireless, the keynote, and the product announcements. The new file storage for developers had no obvious advantages over S3. Jeez, at least give people a reason to use this late-entry, me-too service. (Appengine, there’s an awesome, innovative, new service…alas from years ago.)

I should say, I saw an awesome new, free website wireframing service.
